Butchering addon
Butchering turns the simple process of gathering meat in Minecraft into a lengthy and elaborate ordeal. The addon pays extraordinary attention to detail, challenging players with complex mechanics — and occasionally unsettling imagery.

What It Takes to Butcher an Animal
You can no longer simply slay an animal with a sword like in vanilla Minecraft. First, you must prepare an entire suite of specialized tools, including: Rope, Skinning Knife, Hatchet, Gloves, Hanger.
Once you have your gear ready, mount a hanger on the ceiling. Next, venture out into the wild, find a buffalo, and tie it up with a rope while crouching. Use your skinning knife to bleed the buffalo and harvest the carcass into your inventory.
Hang the carcass from the ceiling mount, and you're ready to break it down:
- Use the Skinning Knife to skin the animal.
- Put on your Gloves to remove the innards.
- Finish the process by using the Hatchet to butcher the meat.
It might sound like an overcomplicated process — and it absolutely is! But the addon doesn't stop there. It also introduces a Butcher Table to prep meat for grilling or grinding, alongside a Meat Grinder that adds another layer of complexity by letting you make custom sausages.
If you ever get stuck, you can find a link to the detailed in-game guide directly in the Pause Menu.
This addon offers a bit too much realism for my personal taste, but its depth and attention to detail are impressive — I'm sure it will find a dedicated audience!
