If you've ever played with Farmer's Delight, you'll instantly recognize some of the mechanics, as the workflows feel quite similar. For instance, the Stove serves as your foundational workstation, which must be placed directly beneath pans and steamers in both addons.
How the Cooking Process Works
First, I have to mention that the addon includes a handy in-game recipe book detailing what every single item is used for. Generally, though, the process works like this: meats and fish can, and sometimes must, be chopped into smaller pieces on a Cutting Board. Before you fry anything in a pan, it must be properly seasoned with oil.
If you don't take your food out of the pan in time, it will burn and turn straight into Coal (which I definitely fumbled a couple of times!). Meanwhile, grains can be processed into flour using a stone mill to prepare dough.
Ingredients You'll Be Working With
- Cooking Oil
- Flour
- Dough
- Noodles
- Cow Offal
- Pork Belly
- Meatballs
- Tomatoes
- Chili Peppers
- Rice
Progression & Crafting
You can't cook every single recipe the moment you install the addon. Advanced dishes must first be unlocked by reading Recipe Pages, with at least two dozen exclusive recipes waiting to be discovered.
Beyond the mechanics, the addon is not lacking in decorative value either. Most cooked meals can be beautifully displayed on plates, and the various cooking stations themselves look fantastic in base kitchens!
