How to Create a Portal to Kemet
- To build a portal, start by building a well composed of 9 Sandstone Blocks arranged in a large square
- Followed by 32 blocks of Sand placed around the base in two layers to form the walls.
- Now, at the center of the well, place 3 blocks of Sandstone Obelisk one on top of the other, the Sandstone Obelisk Core, another Sandstone Obelisk block, and finish with the Obelisk Tip.
- Activate the portal by tapping the Eye of Horus on the Sandstone Obelisk Core.
Now, move your character into the portal and stand still for 10 seconds or so, because it takes some time for the dimension to load.
The Beauty of the Sand Sea
Kemet is nothing like the Desert Biome we have all become accustomed to. Unfathomable masses of sand form huge hills that can be seen from afar. There is almost no life here, aside from sporadic oases. No wonder there are no people to be seen anywhere.
Pyramids, sanctuaries, and abandoned farms are the only signs of their long-gone presence. But the desert is not completely deprived of life. On the contrary, it is taken over by critters and monsters.
Myths Coming to Life
Anubis, the ancient Egyptian deity bearing a jackal's head, rules these lands. He is the main boss of the addon, which can be found in one of the temples scattered throughout the desert, but he is not the only danger. Snakes, crocodiles, and hippos are the natural inhabitants and sources of danger. Even more deadly are monsters like mummies, risen from the dead.
Welcome, Pharaoh
All of this content would be almost pointless without the good loot you can strive for. The Pharaoh's armor set, Anubis armor set, and Crocodile armor are all thematically appropriate and cool-looking pieces of gear. But my favorite was Pharaoh's staff which had magical powers.
One ability was to summon three jackal minions that would fight by my side. The second ability was a ray of sun that would burn my enemies before my eyes.
Mythos and its first chapter, Kemet, are a great opportunity to learn something new about ancient myths and ways of life while playing Minecraft Bedrock.
