The Legend of Alex addon

The Legend of Alex is a sandbox addon that borrows most of its gameplay from Breath of the Wild. In this transformed world, exploration and experimentation will be your two best friends. But as is often the case, the wilds are not only fun to explore but also pose many dangers.

Magic Tablet

The Magic Tablet is the device you get the first time you enter the world. It serves as a tool to register your discoveries, a teleportation device, and a way to invoke magic. Tapping with the tablet in hand opens a menu with all registered towers and shrines available for teleportation. Crouching and tapping right after opens the learned magic skills menu, where you can choose to use them or assign them to a button combination.

Towers and Shrines

Towers and Shrines are two new structure types introduced to Minecraft's world generation by the addon. Towers can be as high as 100 blocks and serve as observation points. On top of each tower is a console used to register a waypoint in the magic tablet. These waypoints can then be used for teleportation via the tablet.

Shrines have the same registration console, but at their entrance. Enter a Shrine by stepping on the blue block inside the small structure. You will be transported to a challenge room with foes or a minigame. Sometimes, a Shrine will contain a console that unlocks a new magic skill for your tablet.

Mobs and Minibosses

Another part of the addon is the new mobs. In the wild, you will encounter random groups of enemies like Bokoblins — pig-like creatures armed with clubs. There are many other regular enemies that you will meet on your journey, but there will also be minibosses.

Minibosses are a completely different beast because they require a specific strategy to defeat. Each of them has a weak spot that needs to be exploited. It could be the eye of a Cyclops or a crystal on the back of a Golem.
