Smile Virus addon
The Smile Virus was brought to Earth by an extraterrestrial object, sparking an apocalypse. The virus is very similar to the Cordyceps fungus from The Last of Us. It spreads by producing spores that infect carriers, such as humans, and takes over their will to create aggressive monsters. What stands out most is that the infected smile uncontrollably; this unnatural grin has serious horror vibes and gives me the chills.

The virus creates biomes filled with spores and fungi, which are also sources of some of the rarest materials you can gather. There is a risk to gathering them because of the mobs that spawn there, but it is also very lucrative.
The world is not limited to the contaminated biomes, however. A large portion of the map is filled with abandoned buildings. Not so long ago, they were full of office workers and residents, but now they serve as a grim reminder of how fragile our civilization is. You can scavenge these ruins for food and medicine.

It burns through fungi and infection with ease and is great for handling groups of "smile zombies." You can buy guns and ammunition from the few survivors left in the world. They also sell air filtration masks to block the spores and the toxic air that will harm your health if you aren't protected.
