Tonalli
The Tonalli addon explores what a pre-Columbian Mesoamerican civilization would look like in Minecraft. Hidden within dense jungle canopies lie massive pyramids belonging to a civilization that worships the Jaguar and the Sun God. They are locked in an endless blood feud with another faction of fierce warriors who worship a Moon Deity. As the player, you can't join either side — you are caught right in the middle of their conflict!

First-Hand Experience
It took quite a bit of traveling before I stumbled upon my first pyramid: a tall structure topped with a sacrifice altar. Since the addon doesn't explain much, I experimented with various items until I finally activated the altar using a Tlaloc Jewel. The screen went black, and lightning began striking all around me! ...And then, nothing happened. I suppose I was expecting a boss to spawn or something similar to trigger.
Exploring the Dungeons
The next piece of content I discovered in the jungle biome was a pyramid with a slightly different shape, trimmed in red brick. At the summit, a drop led directly inside, so I dived right in!
Throughout the complex's many rooms were locked treasure chests filled with gold, all heavily guarded by Jaguar warriors. It was here that I found the Macuahuitl — a iconic weapon fitted with sharp obsidian blades.
Overall, the addon has its fun moments, and the Mesoamerican theme really appealed to me. However, it definitely needs some work when it comes to guiding the player and explaining its mechanics better.
