The Foreboding Project

What Foreboding Project essentially offers is an unsettling psychological experience that builds suspense and horror. Don’t think of it as just another mod, because it doesn’t simply add new monsters or items. This is an experience you live through — one that gradually builds tension and madness over time. The Foreboding event begins when a player triggers one of several conditions, such as reaching a depth of -55, traveling 8,000 blocks, reaching level 45, or when the world reaches 30 days of age. The first sign of the event is a distant fog appearing on the horizon. As you continue playing, each passing day has a chance to advance the event to the next stage. The strange effects that can occur during the Foreboding aren’t limited to fog — they can include hallucinations, eerie noises, abnormal mob behavior, endless nights, sudden exhaustion, and more.

Another way to trigger all of these events is by building an altar, shown in the screenshots. To construct it, place 8 Gold Blocks in a square shape with the center empty. In the middle, place 1 Mossy Cobblestone block, and on top of it, 1 Mycelium Block. Surround the Mycelium with 4 Redstone torches, then use Flint and Steel to ignite the top and begin the ritual.
