What You Need to Know to Start:

• Build a Talisman Table and Jewelry Table (the two main crafting stations)
• Mine Marble blocks (found at most layers, mineable with stone pickaxe)
• Smelt raw marble to create crafting materials
• Craft Essence of Effects to create accessories
• Get access to the Trinket inventory via a scroll

Create focused builds like fire-immune explorers (Obsidian Skull), underwater specialists (Neptune's Shell for breathing + swimming), or speed demons (multiple movement trinkets stacking for 60%+ speed increases). Trinkets solve common Minecraft annoyances — fall damage, mining speed, block gathering, underwater vision, and susceptibility to various status effects.

I've found several trinket combinations that create powerful synergies, such as the Ankh Shield (damage reduction + fire immunity + debuff immunity) or movement speed stacking. As a Terraria fan, I was also delighted to see many of the game's iconic trinkets featured here.
