How to start a family
Minecraft is all about creativity and exploration, but what if you could also build meaningful relationships within the game? The Family Life addon makes that possible by replacing villagers with NPCs that you can interact with, befriend, and even marry! This guide will walk you through how to start a family in Minecraft PE (Bedrock).
Before you begin, make sure you have installed the Family Life addon. This mod enhances NPC interactions and introduces mechanics like personality traits, relationships, and a more intuitive UI.

To start interacting with NPCs, you need to:
NPCs in the Family Life addon have three key relationship stats: Romantic, Friendship, and Personality. Each of these plays a role in how your interactions develop.

Talking to an NPC increases your friendship level. The higher the friendship status, the easier it becomes to improve other relationship statuses. At high friendship levels, you unlock perks such as discounts on trades and smoother romantic interactions. You can check an NPC’s stats on the left side of the interaction screen.
Flirting with an NPC increases their romantic status. A high romantic level improves your chances of successfully getting married. Romantic personalities will respond more positively to flirting.
Every NPC has a unique personality that affects interactions. An NPC with a romantic personality will increase their romantic status more quickly when flirted with. Different personalities make each NPC more unique and dynamic.

Once you've built up your romantic status high enough, you can propose marriage. If the NPC accepts, you’re officially married!

Right after you've become married, you’ll unlock the option to have children, expanding your in-game family! In the dialogue, a new option will appear called "Procreate". On activation, it will introduce into the world a new member of society, of either gender.
